How your name gets onto the lid

Everything starts on the product page. You pick a lid style from the tiles, choose a greeting card for the occasion, and type into Recipient(s) Name, which takes up to 60 characters. Your words go into Message for Greeting Card, which takes up to 250. Their name on the lid, your words inside.

They are different surfaces, which is why the lid carries a short line and the card carries the paragraph.

The name is printed on the cream lid, in the type style you picked, before the box is assembled. Lid, card and satin ribbon are all in place before the box leaves our warehouse, assembled and finished by hand, in small batches, in our studio.

Personalization is part of the price, not a separate option: the card comes with every personalized gift, design and message included. Most of our gift boxes take a name, and every box that does shows the fields on its product page; a box without them ships as it is. What a stuck-on label does that print doesn't

A sticker has an edge, and an edge is where things start: it lifts in heat, it catches, it collects a fingerprint. Whatever happens to a box in transit happens to that edge first. A name printed onto the lid has no edge to get under.

The lid never meets the carrier anyway. It is a matte magnetic lid, no tape, no wrapping needed, and the finished box is shipped inside an outer carton, so the gift box arrives unmarked.

What the lid can say

A name, or names. The field suggests the shape, “e.g. Sarah & Michael”, and the lid carries the name and the occasion you choose on the product page. Everything you want to say goes on the card, up to 250 characters, printed exactly as you send it. If the words are the hard part, we have a separate piece on what to write in a gift card.

From 5 boxes, the lid can carry any text: a person’s name, a company or practice name, a short line. Your logo on the lid and a custom lid design are included in the price at bulk quantities, and the design is done by our lead designer, Artem, with more than 20 years of design work behind him.

Bulk pricing starts at 5 boxes: orders of 5–19 save 5%, orders of 20–49 save 7%, and 50 or more moves to custom pricing. A single order can run up to 2,000 boxes and can ship to many addresses. One box for a friend or a closing gift for every client this season, the shelf is the same.

What people actually ask us to print

Personalization here is the norm, not the upgrade. Roughly five in six orders leave our studio carrying the buyer’s own words. The occasions that come up most often, in order, are congratulations, merry Christmas, thank you, happy engagement and happy birthday. We know because we read our own orders, and the longer version is in our gift box occasions data.

The notes run from a single word to a paragraph, and both land. One card said, in full, “Thank you”. Another read: “A big heartfelt thank you for all your hard work on the billing remodel. We truly appreciate the work and feel so blessed to get to work with you. Hope you plan to take a well deserved break.”

Those are card messages. The lid takes the name and the occasion; the sentences go inside, where there is space for them. A short note or a long one, the card fits either, on whichever box you choose.

If the name comes out wrong

The name is printed exactly as you typed it, which is why the spelling deserves one more look before you pay. Sarah or Sara, whatever sits in the field is what the lid will say.

If something arrives wrong, our promise is short: “Damaged or incorrect? We’ll replace it or refund it.” For damage in transit, send photos within 72 hours, of the outer carton, the lid and whatever was hurt inside, and we send a free replacement. Returns are accepted within 30 days, personalized boxes included, packaging intact. Such boxes are almost never returned: a lid with a name and an occasion cannot be reused for anyone else.
