What we collect when you visit or order, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Nikimoon is a family-run gift box company. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit nikimoongifts.com or place an order, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English.

Who this policy is for
We sell and ship only within the 50 US states and the District of Columbia. We do not ship internationally and we do not aim our store at people outside the United States.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you bought, and any personalization you ask us to print — the recipient's name, your card message and your chosen design.
When you write to us: your name, email address, the subject you pick, your order number if you add one, and whatever you write in the message.
When you sign up for emails: your email address, and whether you open or click the emails we send.
When you leave a review: the display name you choose, your email address, your rating and review text, and any photo or video you upload. Your display name, rating, review and media are shown publicly on the site.
Automatically, when you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, what you clicked, how you moved through the site, and how you arrived. Some of this is recorded as a session replay — a play-back of your visit — described below.
Payment details: your card number goes directly to our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
Where the information comes from
Almost all of it comes from you directly. The rest is collected automatically by the tools listed below as you use the site. We also receive order and review information from Etsy when a customer chooses to have their Etsy review shown on our site.
Why we use it
- To take payment, make your box, and ship it to the right address
- To send order and shipping confirmations and answer your questions
- To send marketing emails, if you asked for them — you can stop these at any time
- To publish reviews, if you wrote one
- To understand which pages and products people use, so we can improve the store
- To detect fraud and abuse, and to keep the site working
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share it with the companies that make the store work. Each one only gets what it needs:
- Shopify — runs the store, the checkout and our payment processing, and hosts our customer and order records. Shop Pay and Google Pay may appear as faster ways to check out.
- Shipping carriers — receive the recipient's name, address and phone number so the box can be delivered.
- Google — Google Analytics and Google's advertising and shopping tags measure how the site is used. Google Fonts serves the typefaces on our pages, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Microsoft Clarity — records how visitors move through the site, including session replays and heatmaps, and synchronizes an advertising identifier with Microsoft Bing.
- Klaviyo — sends our emails and runs the signup popup. Klaviyo begins recording which products you view on your first visit, before you give us an email address.
- Judge.me — collects and displays product reviews.
- Instafeed — displays our Instagram photos on the site.
- hCaptcha — checks that our contact form is being used by a person and not a bot.
- Sucuri — sits in front of our website as a security filter, so it processes the traffic of every visitor.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights, or if the business is sold or reorganized.
Cookies and tracking
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary — they keep your cart and your session working. Others, placed by the companies above, measure how the site is used and support advertising. These tools may build a picture of your activity over time and across other websites you visit.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones, parts of the store will stop working. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and unsubscribe from our emails using the link at the bottom of any one of them.
There is currently no cookie banner on our site: these tools load when the page loads.
"Do Not Track" signals
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. The third-party tools listed above may or may not respond to them; that is up to each company.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, which in the United States generally means at least seven years. We keep marketing contacts until you unsubscribe. Reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them. Analytics records expire on the schedules set by the tools that collect them.
Your choices and rights
Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- stop sending you marketing email
- remove a review you posted
Email info@nikimoongifts.com from the address you used with us, and tell us what you would like. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and we will never treat you differently for asking.
Residents of some states — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas — have these rights by law. Our business is below the size thresholds those laws use, so they do not currently apply to us. We honor the requests above regardless.
Reviewing and changing your information
You can see and update the details on any order by using the Order Status Page linked in your confirmation email. To change anything else — or to correct a review — email info@nikimoongifts.com with the details, and we will make the change and confirm it.
Children
Our store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@nikimoongifts.com and we will delete it.
Security
Payments run through Shopify's PCI-compliant checkout, and our site uses encryption in transit. No website can promise perfect security, but we limit who can reach customer data and we act quickly if something goes wrong.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date, and — where the change is significant and we hold your email address — tell you by email. The date at the top always shows the current version.
